Hello. So, I went driving a car for the first time ever on Saturday, March 8th. I had to wake up around 7AM-ish, which sucked. Saturday is typically a day for sleeping in, and the fact that I couldn't do that bothered me a bit.
At 8, my driver instructor came to my house, got blah, and he drove me to the DMV.
There, we got my permit, but he's holding onto it until I finish my 6 hours of practice.
Before we started on the driving, he allowed me to play my driving mix cd, which was awesome. I added a few additional songs to the playlist before burning it onto a cd. The entire thing rounded up to about an hour of music, which was cool.
The first thing I did was back out of the parking lot, which was scary.
After that, we practiced on turning. Note: I'm kinda suckish on turning. It confuses me on how much I need to turn the steering wheel. Like, sometimes I turn it to much, other times not enough. Finding that happy medium is hard.
Another thing I found difficult was how to stay in my own lane. How the heck can you tell whether or not your car is in a lane or not. The perspective is so weird, I don't like it. I went by how far the side of the car was from the line thing on the road in the side-view mirror. Not sure how great that works. I'm gonna assume it works okay.
Those are the two things that I'm worst at.
Breaking is okay. Sometimes it would be kinda stiff and abrupt.
I can drive in a strait line. I can do that easy.
Wide turns, yeah I can dig that.
Signaling, I'm a master.
Waiting patiently in traffic, I can do that.
Watching my speed, I can sorta do, sorta. I'd accidentally go a little too fast, or be too slow. That, I think, I can easily work on.
So yeah, basically, I practiced turns, went to Point, which is by a beach, waited in traffic, stopped at few places such as my instructor's office, Burger King, and Wawa. I would just stay inside the car and I'd sing along to my music while he was out. I took this picture while waiting in the car for him to come back. I tried to show how I'm inside the car, in the driver's seat, and express my feelings with my face.
