Hello. I've been plotting my future, even though I sort of vowed I wouldn't do that. But, this brought on happy emotions, so it's okay. A few buddies of mine and I have decided where we are going to reside in when we grow older. And it's basically the exact thing I've wanted for a while now.
Brief back story debriefing: In 9th grade, which was last year, 2012/3, in my Computer Graphics and Design class (awful class btw. Not at all what I expected it to be. Wanna know more about that? You can find more about that in the exclusive handwritten journals I currently keep in my bedroom.) we were assigned to look a homes. I found that I really liked cottage-esc homes. Thinking about homes that I wanted to live in made me think about where I'd like to live in the future. I was sort of influenced from what I've recently read and watched, The Hobbit. Everyone in Hobbiton knows each other. It's quaint. I thought of the appeal of living in a nice little cottage in a nice village where you can walk everywhere and you know everyone.
Now, in more recent times, Amy and I have discussed living together, in perhaps New York City. I haven't had any experience as to what it's like to live in the big apple, and I thought it'd be cool to get to know what that's like at a young age before I settle down and things. Yesterday I was sort of bored and started researching things 'bout the city. In my findings, I learned that everything is hecka expensive, and yeah, as probably collage students, that is the last problem we'd need to face. I started looking for alternative cities. And then I came across a little place called Fairport, NY.
It's all the way across the state from NYC, but it looked really ideal, first off. It had very good living costs, minimal crimes, good education, amenities, the whole shebang. I was like "Hey! This sounds great!" So I told Amy, and she was like "heck yeah, I'm game." Since she was with Rosa, she sounded on board with the town as well. Furthering my research, I found the deal maker. I found out that Fairport is a village. A VILLAGE. Ohhh man. That made me so happy and excited. Amy and Rosa were just as elated as I was to hear that this was a freaking village.
I'm so happy I've found out about this place. I think it's definitely do-able to live there as college students, living off of minimum wage at the very least (although I'm not really sure what expenses to take into account, as I have yet to take a personal finance class in my school. That's for later in the year. Over the summer). I'm hoping that $20,000 of college won't be too much for my parents to pay if I want to go to college there. There's a college... I think it was Bronx or something. It definitely started with the letter 'B'. Anyway, it seems to be pretty cheap in comparison to the average $50,000, but maybe a little more expensive than my sister's classes in Stockton, $16000 a year, I think. It's a 4,000 dollar difference, and yeah, that's kind of a lot of money, but to quote Panic! At The Disco, "If you love me let me GOOOO". But yeah, parents, please let me go and let me be happy in this village with my friends.
Well, I wanted to take note of this for future reference, when this becomes a bit more relevant.
Thanks for reading.
