Hello. Bailey, Amy, Rosa and I ventured off into the Downtown Library after school. Fun ensued.
The first thing our little herd did was grab a bite at Dunkin' Donuts, which is attached to the library. I got two donuts, white frosted and glazed, while Bailey got one. I don't remember what flavor. Sorry.
I grew thirsty, and used the vending machine in the little place for the first time. Lemme tell you, I was astounded by it. It freaking sucked up my money so quickly, it scared me. And then it spat out my change through the same place it took the money in. These vending machines were a lot different than the old ones at my school. Holy moly. The future is now, my friends.
After Bailey and I ate, the four of us went upstairs, and began playing The Game of Life. The day prior, on our facebook chat, I challenged all who were going with us to the library to a game of The Game of Life.
Rosa prophesied that she would be the one to win the game in the end. Can't say that she was too far off the mark. The game began with Bailey, Amy, and I on the college path, while Rosa jumped strait to career. I'll just describe the 'lives' of how the game went, by order of our turns.
Bailey: Played as John Watson, went to college, became a teacher and first made $40,000 a year. Got married to Mary Morstan. They lived in an exceptionally nice home, and had two kids, a girl named Sherlock, and a boy named Hamish. Bailey was the third to retire.
Amy: Played as John Egbert. Went to college, became a doctor, and married Dave. She eventually lost her job as a doctor, and became an Entertainer and maDE $100,000!!!!! Ridiculous. Eventually, she'd lose that salary, but held a very nice salary. They had numerous children, all of them were boys. They lived in the most expensive home in the game. Amy was the first to retire.
Rosa: Played as Donna Noble, skipped college, and was an artist. For an artist, she did very well, and made $70,000 a pay day. Donna married that one guy she was married to in that library episode of Doctor Who. They had a lot of kids, so many that she needed two cars. Eventually, Rosa got hold of the $100,000 salary card, and then dropped to $20,000 and then she revived herself. She adopted a child, named Eileen. She was 2nd to retire.
Jess: Played as the Incredible Jessica Samson. And that life was indeed incredible. I went to college, was last to graduate out of the three that went. I started off in debt $40,000. Then in my college years I decided to go on a spring break, so that's another $20,000 loan from the bank. I became a cop, and made a measly $20,000. I eventually got married, and allowed my friends to name my husband, but then ended up not liking any of the names they came up with, so with 'Of Mice and Men' in mind, I named my husband George. I got the worst house ever. It must have gone through some sort of earthquake, because it was torn right in half. So, I was in debt, made a crappy salary, and had a crappy home. Okay. I had a kid, it was girl. Under my conditions in which I was barely making it, I set her up for adoption, which Rosa took, and gave me $100,000 for her. (For the rest of the game, I was mocked for 'selling my child'. Hey, I couldn't support a kid. It was for her own good.) Soon, I managed to take hold of the $100,000 salary card, and got out of debt. Things were good for a while. Whenever some one landed on a 10 when spinning the wheel, they had to pay me $5,000, which was also helpful. I also was involved in the stalk market for a little while. And then I had kids again. And then I got a bad salary again, and things sucked again. I was last to retire.
In the end, the places take was.... 1st place: Amy. 2nd place: Rosa. 3rd place: Me! 4th: Bailey.
I've come to the conclusion that I'll never win a game of Life.
After the game, Bailey showed me the graphic novel section of the library, which I had not known existed. I got a Captain America comic. YAYYY.
After that, the herd dispersed.
It was a good day.
Thanks for reading.
