Some Sweet Sixteens

Hello. This week I have attended in total two parties. I don't typically go to parties. I think this year I have only attended four. Not complaining.

The first party was very extravagant. A lot of people, a lot of space, a lot of fancy crap. It was nice... but seriously, the second I stepped inside that place (which was I guess a caterer thing), my anxiety peaked sky high. I began to question why I came. Why did I think this would be fun. I know basically no one here. Oh there's no assigned seats? WHO IS GOING TO WANT TO SIT WITH ME. NO ONE. I am definitely not going to sit with my parents, I mean, who does that? I stuck with the only female I was semi comfortably acquainted with and sat with her siblings and my sister was also at the table. I then continued to enjoy myself the best I could at that seat, not participating in any of the activities (which were just games like limbo and musical chairs) and just spectating and eating the food. The BBQ was delicious by the way. After an exhausting five hours it was finally time to go home.

The second party was considerably smaller and on a BOAT. Yeah. A BOAT. And I enjoyed it so much better than the first party. I knew basically everyone there, give or take a few parties who were the birthday girl's relatives. The birthday girl being Crystal.
There weren't any assigned seats again, but I was more fine with this. At my table, I could actually name all the people there. It was Roxanne, Jen, Max, Jade, Paul, Me, and Sara. I think there was one other person there but the face of said person eludes me at the moment and I'm pretty upset with that. Like, I cannot remember who the heck sat in that one extra seat.
Anyway, everyone seemed to just have cards for Crystal, which I assume was full of cards and money. I was the only one with the giant box that contained her gift. I started feeling very self conscience because everyone had little cards held in their hands and I'm sporting a big ol' box.
After getting settled, the boat set sail to who knows where. Some appetizers were served and drinks have been drunken. I was sitting next to Paul, and that guy... He made a chicken out of his napkin, so... he's awesome.
Moving on, the biggest thing of the party was the DANCING. I never had the opportunity to go to a party in which the main event was dancing. And this is where I learned that these types of parties are magnificent. So much freaking FUN, MAN. SO. MUCH. FUN. Marissa went crazy. It was so great. There was limboing and that was fun as well. Not as organized as it was at the first party, but I still had mega fun. There was also this one guy who I assume is related to Crystal ( I also remember her saying that he was her cousin) singing Backstreet's Back on the top part of the boat for the teens when the DJ called just the adults to the dance floor.
And the food was also very good, I should mention.
At the end of the party, my feet hurt. So. Much. I wore 2 inch heels throughout the entirety of the 4 hour party. Most females took of their shoes to dance, but NO. I have heard of the rule where you stick to the shoes you're wearing. COMMIT. And I did just that. Woop.

And those are my stories.
These parties sort of make me want to have a nice big party of my own, but knowing that I have poor parents, it won't be as enjoyable. Plus, I'd have to invite everyone from my church and dancing crazily in front of those people I wouldn't exactly look forward to. A lot of things could go wrong.
